Chapter 1 of 3
Two valleys in one
The Sessera Valley has two faces. Higher up are woods and pastures, a protected Natura 2000 area, home to Carabus olympiae, a beetle endemic to the valley. Lower down is the valley of the wool mills, with Coggiola already mentioned in 1152.

The road before the shift
For some workers, the day at the Fabbrica della Ruota began long before they reached the factory. Many came on foot from the nearby hamlets, such as Curino, Soprana, Mucengo and Flecchia, along paths through the woods. In 1937 the plant's workforce reached 158.

Chapter 3 of 3
The journey of energy
At Pray, in the locality of Vallefredda, the former Zignone wool mill has become the Fabbrica della Ruota. At the end of the nineteenth century (1896-97) a system was installed there that transmitted motion through cables and wheels, known as telodynamic. In 1960 the Zignone brothers stopped production; the building has belonged to DocBi since 1991.
